A Contemporary Front Garden

This lovely modern house inn Blackheath, London has an unusually generous front garden and a small, shady rear area. We designed the space to be a relaxing social space that will look good all year round. The challenge was to create a space that felt private enough to be inviting but open enough to allow free access to front door.

We used evergreen hedging strategically placed to create a sense of enclosure and to screen the parked cars. The small rear garden has a fire pit as the focal point surrounded by tree ferns and Japanese Maples.
